The Software Behind Animated Titles and Effects
After Effects brings graphics and effects to video.
Adobe After Effects is a professional motion graphics and visual effects application. You use it to animate text, logos and shapes, add effects to footage, remove backgrounds, track objects in a shot and combine many layers into one finished video.
Where Premiere Pro is for cutting videos together, After Effects is for what is added to them: animated titles, lower thirds, logo reveals, transitions, social media graphics and effects shots. The two apps connect through Dynamic Link, so most video editors learn both.
| Software | Known for | Learn it when |
|---|---|---|
| Adobe After Effects | Motion graphics, compositing and effects on a layer-based timeline | You want animated graphics and VFX basics |
| Premiere Pro | Cutting and assembling full videos | You want to edit videos first |
| DaVinci Resolve | Editing and professional colour grading | You want grading skills |
| Blender and Cinema 4D | 3D modelling and animation | You want 3D objects and scenes |
| VFX course | Compositing, tracking, roto and effects as a full career | You want visual effects as your main field |
Software features and prices change. Check Adobe for the current After Effects plans.

Four Kinds of Work Clients Ask For
Animated posts, reels intros and stories that make local brands stand out.
Clean animated text for YouTube channels, interviews and corporate videos.
Short animated videos that explain a product or service in under a minute.
Animated logos, openers and end cards for companies and creators.
Coimbatore businesses in textiles, engineering, education and healthcare all publish video now. An editor or designer who can also animate graphics is more useful to an agency, a production house or a client, and can work in-house or freelance.
