Find Us

Look for Kani Towers, Above Vithu Pharmacy

Gandhipuram is the busiest part of the city, so here is the easy way to find the door.

  1. 1
    Head for Cross Cut Road

Cross Cut Road is one of the main roads of Gandhipuram, known for its showrooms and shops. Whether you come from the bus terminus side or from the Sathy Road side, ask for Cross Cut Road and you will be pointed the right way.

  2. 2
    Spot Vithu Pharmacy

Our building is Kani Towers, No.182 D, 2nd Street. The pharmacy at street level is the easiest marker, and we are on the floor above it.

  3. 3
Take the stairs to the 2nd floor

The centre is reached by stairs. If you have a mobility concern, call us first so we can plan the visit properly.

  4. 4
    Park before you climb

Parking is available. Gandhipuram is crowded in the evenings, so arriving a few minutes early helps.

  5. 5
    Ask for the counsellor

Tell the front desk you would like a graphic design demo. A counsellor will walk you through the lab, the syllabus and the batch options.

Gandhipuram also has the Central Bus Terminus, which links the city with towns across Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states. That is useful if you are coming from outside Coimbatore for a visit, because you can reach the area by bus and be at our door without needing a second long connection.

Design Is Outside Our Window

A Classroom With a Live Case Study

Few institutes sit on a street that is itself a lesson in visual communication.

Cross Cut Road and the nearby 100 Feet Road are best known for their large textile and jewellery showrooms. Walk down either of them and you are surrounded by exactly the kind of design work our students will one day be asked to do: shop signs that must be readable from across the road, festival offer banners, price tags, carry bags, window displays and hoardings fighting for attention.

We use that, deliberately. A common early exercise is a short observation walk: students photograph three signboards, decide what works and what does not, and explain why in plain words. It trains the eye before any software is opened. Later, the same observations return as project briefs: redesign a showroom hoarding, plan a festival offer post, build a simple brand look for an imaginary shop on the street.

Signboards and hoardings

Learn hierarchy, contrast and readability from a distance, using real examples a few minutes away.

Festival offers

Design posts and banners for the seasonal rush that Gandhipuram shops know well.

Packaging and bags

See how brand colour and logo placement appear on carry bags and boxes.

Print for retail

Price tags, flyers and catalogues: sizes, bleed and the basics of getting a file print-ready.

A Fair Checklist

Questions to Ask Any Design Institute

Is the fee in writing?Which software versions are taught? How many projects will I finish? Can I see student work? How often do trainers review my work? What does placement assistance include? What are the batch timings? Can I attend a demo first?

We would rather you ask these questions and decide with confidence than join in a hurry. Bring this list when you visit.

Step by Step

From Your First Layer to Your First Client Brief

The exact schedule depends on your batch, but the progression is the same.

In the first weeks you learn how a design is built before you learn how a program works: what hierarchy is, why spacing matters, how two fonts can work together and why a third usually spoils the page. Students are often surprised that the first assignments are small and plain. A clean poster with one message and one image teaches more than a crowded one with ten effects.

Then the tools arrive in layers. Photoshop comes first because it teaches layers, selections and colour, concepts that reappear in every other program. Illustrator follows for logos and vector shapes, where precision matters. InDesign brings in multi-page layout, so you can design a brochure or catalogue with consistent margins and styles. Canva closes the loop for speed, because most shop owners and many agencies expect fast turnaround on everyday posts.

The last stretch is project work: assignments written like client briefs, with a goal, an audience and a deadline. You present your work, hear what is unclear, and revise. That cycle of presenting and revising is what most beginners have never practised, and it is a large part of what separates a portfolio from a folder of experiments.

Honest Answers

Common Worries, Plainly Answered

"I have never touched design software."

That is the normal starting point. The first classes assume nothing, and the trainer builds up from basic tools.

"I work all day on Cross Cut Road."

Ask the counsellor about evening or Sunday batches. We are open until 9 PM on weekdays and until 5 PM on Sundays.

"I am not creative."

Good design is mostly rules, observation and practice. Creativity grows with exposure, and the course supplies plenty of both.

"Will a certificate get me a job?"

A certificate alone rarely does. A portfolio of finished, well-explained work does far more, which is why projects are the heart of the course.

"I only want to run my own shop's marketing."

Then you may not need every module. Tell the counsellor and ask about a plan focused on Canva and Photoshop basics.

"Is online learning available?"

Online options may be available for some batches. Ask what is open at the moment.

After the Course

Freelance and Job Paths

Gandhipuram has an advantage few other parts of the city can match: dense retail on your doorstep means a steady supply of small design jobs. Many learners begin by doing posts and offer banners for a relative's shop, then widen to nearby businesses. These early projects are what turn a student portfolio into a professional one, because they come with real feedback and real deadlines.

If you prefer employment, the roles to look for include graphic designer, social media designer, print designer, junior brand designer and layout artist at advertising agencies, printing presses, marketing teams and e-commerce brands. We cannot promise any outcome, and pay depends on your skills, portfolio and the employer. What we can promise is help with the practical steps: shaping your portfolio, writing a clear resume and practising interviews.
